I had an issue with my laptop's HDD showing 100% usage. I thought it might be a virus, so I decided to format my computer. Now everything is fine with a clean Windows installation and some of the programs already installed, the disk usage doesn't go above 3%, which made me think I had solved the problem.

Well, there were some updates and I kept the task manager open to see when the disk usage would spike to 100% but it stayed around 3%.

Then suddenly I got a message asking me to restart my computer because there was an update to fix bugs. I did it.

It took about an hour to install, and when I restarted the computer and up to now, the disk usage doesn't go below 100%, and I haven't installed any other programs besides the ones I had before the updates.

Here are the specifications of my computer

Edición Windows 10 Pro

Versión 22H2

Instalado el ‎14/‎6/‎2024

Compilación del sistema operativo 19045.4529

Experiencia Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19058.1000.0

The specifications of my computer are as follows

RAM instalada 16,0 GB (15,8 GB usable)

Id. del producto 00331-10000-00001-AA888

Tipo de sistema Sistema operativo de 64 bits, procesador basado en x64

Lápiz y entrada táctil La entrada táctil o manuscrita no está disponible para esta pantalla

Please help with this error as my computer becomes very slow, or should I uninstall the 22H2 update?
I also want to mention that I am not copying or working with the hard drive, I am just sitting here watching to see when the usage goes down to at least 50% but it doesn't happen
Gracias

Roberto

    Hi Roberto C

High disk usage problem started after the Windows 10 Pro 22H2 update.

This could be due to Windows services or features causing high disk activity.

If you uninstall 22H2, problem disappear? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNX9QBAOhn4

I suggest to update drivers for your system. You can use your device manufacturer's utility to update recommended drivers.
