Content library cleanup tool error

Hi experts,

Our DPs are running out of space now, so I followed the article to run content library cleanup tool to free up disk space.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/hierarchy/content-library-cleanup-tool

One of the DPs reported below error (the site server as well), but the tool is working on another 2 DPs (only DP role on the server) and it frees about 12 GB disk space.

Because this distribution point is co-located with its site server, packages may correctly exist in the content library that are not distributed to the distribution point. Package deletion has been disabled.

Is this expected behavior? How to resolve the error?

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft MECM Q&A forum.

1,Yes it is expected behavior. We cannot run ContentLibraryCleanup.exe tool on the Site Server, also if the DP is co-located on this System.

Similar thread for your reference: DP co-located on site - free space problem

2,To free up the disk space on the site server and DPs, please delete all the unwanted applications, drivers, OS and packages on the SCCM console. Please also remeber to delete the files that you manually place into a location (source location). Driver/application packages never reference this location again (although other things do).

Hope it helps. Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,

    Simon
