When using Office 16 I receive the following

 'Opening C:\Users\bekco\OneDrive\Documents\Brazilian Porteguese\Lingo Hut\MP3\Aniversário.mp3

'Some files can contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer.

It is important to be certain that this file is from a trustworthy source.

Would you like to open this file?'

whenever I try to hyperlink to an mp3 sound file on my computer from a word document.

What I found at Microsoft was the following fix, which failed miserably,

Enable or disable hyperlink warning messages in Office programs

Article 03/16/2023

I have spent hours online trying to find a fix for a problem that should not be a problem because the function is supposed to be a part of the product I purchased!

I found many emails looking for the same answer, and yet no one has any answers except for giving the one tha does not work.

Does anyone from Microsoft have a fix for their faulty product?

If not, how do I revert back to an earlier version that works as advertised?

Greg

    Hi,

I suggest you try this method:

    Start Registry Editor.

    Locate the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Security

    Set the "DisableHyperlinkWarning"=Dword:00000001

Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, please remember to back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.

Here is an article about how to back up and restore the registry in Windows:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-back-up-and-restore-the-registry-in-windows-855140ad-e318-2a13-2829-d428a2ab0692
