Why this odd Cosmos Query result?

I need to create some string start and end dates to pass in to another step of a Data Pipeline, so want to select a GetCurrentDateTime() value so I only use a single value when building up my date strings. But when I then do the outer select when I will use my date parts to extract the date portions of my SELECT GetCurrentDateTime(), there are 5 results with different times!!?

We checked and ran the query on our end and found no discrepancy:

Can you provide details of your Cosmos DB and structure of your DB to repro this issue.

I'm not sure what the DB structure has to do with it, as I'm not querying anything from it! It's a Cosmos DB with one collection full of json documents of similar structure. What type of information would be helpful? Do you have any suspicions on what it might be?

It is also interesting to note - with the simple query, with only 1 result, it is telling me that 5 documents are being returned!!

Hi @CandT ,this looks strange issue as the same query worked fine when we ran it on a container of multiple documents. But the screenshot shared by you definitely shows some issue.

Would it be possible to provide couple of documents and which attribute used for partition key? Also please confirm the region where you created the account once.

Unfortunately, I cannot include any documents as they are confidential - the partition key is "/partition" in the document, and is of the form "xxxx_2020_11". "xxxx" is a client code, and the numbers are the year and month. It is replicated to a 2nd region, the Write Region being North Europe, and Read Region, West Europe.

We have a 2nd UAT CosmosDB too, with the same regional settings - and this does not exhibit the same issue!??
