For about a month I've been unable to successfully burn DVDs. The operation fails to finalize disc with error 0x8007045D. The most recent failure involved burning a Windows 10 64 Bit 22H2 Installation Media Disc. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4529) on a Dell Optiplex 7090. I've noticed that Windows Update installed KB5001716 on 5/14/2024 which is about when the issue began. Also noticed that cdrom.sys was modified 5/14/2024, presumably as part of KB5001716. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue since this update was pushed out by Windows Update or if anyone has any insight into what might be going on or how to resolve this issue.

    Hello,

The error code 0x8007045D usually indicates a hardware or driver issue. Since you mentioned that the issue started after the installation of KB5001716, it's possible that the update may have caused a conflict with your DVD burner's driver.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Update your DVD burner's driver: Go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for your DVD burner. Install the driver and see if the issue persists.
    2. Uninstall KB5001716: If updating the driver doesn't work, you can try uninstalling the KB5001716 update. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates. Find KB5001716 in the list of installed updates and click Uninstall.
    3. Use a different DVD burner: If the issue persists, try using a different DVD burner to see if the problem is with the burner itself.

I hope these steps help resolve your issue.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian

if this i has been the cause of me having so many DVD burn fails i want this effer gone.

but i did as above, yes "it" says it's installed but i got to the Unistall the update the named update is not there.

i've had to uninstall everything only installed the DVD's ISO even the actual DVD files, used CD Burner XP, Cyberlinks Power2Go even bloody File Manager before installing my normal programs and the "cant" then spits out the disc half burnt ready for the trash bin. DAMN I NEED THIS SORTED otherwise i can't burn my own DVDs.
