Dear Microsoft Support Team,

Hello!

I have read on the official Microsoft website that support for SharePoint 2019 On-Premises will end in 2026.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/end-of-support/end-of-support-2026
To ensure our system can continue to run stably and meet security requirements after this date, I have a few questions for clarification:

Product Usage: After the end of support date in 2026, can we still continue to use our existing SharePoint 2019 On-Premises system?

Technical Support: After the end of support date, will we be completely unable to receive any form of technical support from Microsoft, including paid support?

Security Risks: What specific security risks will we face if we continue to use SharePoint 2019 On-Premises without security updates? What measures should we take to mitigate these risks?

Upgrade Recommendations: Before the end of support for SharePoint 2019 On-Premises, does Microsoft have recommended upgrade paths or alternative solutions? How should we prepare and plan for the upgrade process?

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer our questions. We hope to receive detailed guidance and advice to ensure our system can continue to operate stably.

Thank you!

    Hi @Lee, Jason J ,

    Welcome to Q&A forum!

    1. Product Usage: Yes. After the end of support date in 2026, you can still continue to use your existing SharePoint 2019 On-Premises system.
    2. Technical Support: Yes, you will not be able to receive paid support from Microsoft, except for the Q&A forum where you can post questions. However, the support provided by the forum is limited.
    3. Security risks: After the security updates are stopped, there are many risk factors that we cannot confirm.
    4. Upgrade suggestions: There are two options for you to choose from:

Upgrade to SharePoint Server Subscription Edition. SharePoint Server SE is the latest version of SharePoint server. To upgrade from Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019 to SharePoint Server Subscription Edition, you can use the database-attach method.

Migrate to SharePoint Online. You can use the migration tool SPMT provided by Microsoft to migrate.

In summary, for the security of your information, it is recommended to upgrade or migrate before the end of support.

    Have a nice day! :-)

The latest version of SharePoint Server is SharePoint Server subscription edition.

    Refer the blog below.

You can see the features of subscription edition in the below link.

    Hope this helps.
