Hi
We have an Office 365 tenant that is used for Office apps only. Now we are using it for Teams. The only issue is the domain is still the defauly mycompany.onmicrosoft.com - and everyone's login is ******@mycompany.onmicrosoft.com. Our e-mail is Hosted Exchange, not on Office 365. The issue is now we are using Teams and people want to get e-mail alerts from Teams, etc. but Teams doesn't have our "real" e-mail address. Short of migrating completely to Office 365, is there a way to get this to work?

There are certain caveats when using Teams without Exchange Online, some functionalities will not be available while others require additional setup. Read here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/exchange-teams-interact

    Hi @TaneNYC ,

In my experience, users with mailboxes hosted on-premises must be synchronized to Azure Active Directory. For integration with on-premises, it's highly recommended that you have an Exchange full Classic Hybrid deployment with Exchange Server 2016 or later. For more details about how to set up hybrid deployment, you can learn it from:

Thank you both for the information. If I need to create a hybrid Exchange/Office 365 that is going to be time consuming, so I won't be able to let you know if it works for a while. The Exchange Server is actually hosted with a Exchange hosting company (not on-premise at the company's office) so I would need to work with those engineers to make this happen. If there are any simpler solutions out there please let me know.
