Phone number error within Exam Registration Process Step 1: Certification Profile

I am in the process of registering for an Azure exam. I am going through this website: https://esi.microsoft.com/getcertification, selecting AZ-204, then selecting book through PearsonVUE. I am trying to complete the first step for my certification profile. However, with the phone number I receive an error code: The Phone Number you provided is invalid, please provide a valid phone number and try again. I am entering a 10 digit phone number without any symbols that is valid within the United States in this format: ##########. I have tried with different phone numbers and variety of input methods as well where area code matches.

I have already called PearsonVUE Microsoft support, but they have instructed me that the Certification Profile creation is done through Microsoft and I must post a question here.
