How do I set my Outlook calendar to default to a week, not Month? Every time go to it I have to click week since it goes to month. Thanks

My normal flow is open Chrome and open outlook calendar that opens to the month view. I then go to "view" and select "week" and it then shows a week view. However, when I close out and reopen it defaults back to Month. How do I set my Outlook calendar to default to a week, not Month?

Welcome to our forum!

You may follow the steps (Calendar>View/Home>Week) to realize it. When you open the calendar again, it will appear default to a week.

Hi. I opened outlook calendar in a tab on Chrome and pops up monthly view. Then went to view, selected week and then it shows a week view. Closed and reopened and defaulted back to month.

Is there a way to save the default To week? Thanks

According to your description, I notice that the issue occurs on the Outlook for web, right? If so, based on my research, I follow the steps (Calendar>View/Home>Week), and then, close and reopen Outlook on web, it is default to the view Week.

Considering the error may relate to chrome, it is recommended that you open Outlook in New InPrivate Tab or change another browser to see if the issue persists. If not, please reinstall the chrome or use a different browser.

Hi Joan.

Still is going to Month view in Chrome. So I downloaded MS Edge to make it all the same company.

It still defaults to Month view.

Edge is now installed but each time I open it up I get the "welcome to MS edge built to bring...." and have to confirm and select appearance. It doe not remember my settings and ask as if it is the first time open eacb time. Thanks

For the Edge startup display issue, you may take the following steps:

Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.

Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.

Browse the following path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Microsoft Edge

On the right side, double-click the Prevent the First Run webpage from opening on Microsoft Edge policy.

If issue persists, try to re-install the Edge using this link: Download Edge for Business (microsoft.com)

According to your description, you could not change the view default to week in both browsers, considering the issue may relate to the computer, it is suggested that you use another computer with the same process (Outlook>Calendar>View/Home>Week) to see if the issue persists. If not, you may need to reinstall your system.

Hi Joan. To make sure I am clear I can go to a week view however it never stays. I do not see an option to default to Week. The above did not work as well for policy editor. Every time I open it always goes back to month.

Thanks for your reply!

It is true that there is no specific button for default to Week. However, based on my research, both browsers have memories so that once i change the view to Week (Calendar>View/Home>Week), the next time i open the Outlook on web and it will still show as Week.

According that you mentioned both browsers do not support changing the view default to Week, this points the issue may relate to your computer. To better confirm if the issue is more related to your computer, it is suggested that you use another computer and log your account in to the Outlook for Web to see if the settings work. If it works, I am afraid that you need to check your computer system.
