Hey, so I got a new laptop lenovo legion 7i 9th gen(2024) model with specs: i9 14900hx, rtx 4070, 32gb ram. I am thinking of undervolting and overclocking the cpu and gpu. first, for the cpu i gotta install intel xtu and disable virtualization-based security but in the bios if i enable legion optimizations and disable the security, the intel virtualization technology gets disable automatically. why is this happening?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Based on your description, here are some possible solutions:

    1. Manual Configuration: Try disabling Legion Optimizations completely and manually configuring the BIOS settings to the desired state. This may prevent VT-x from being automatically disabled.
    2. BIOS Update: Make sure your BIOS is up to date. Manufacturers sometimes release updates to optimize and improve compatibility with various settings and software. Newer BIOS versions may resolve conflicts.
    3. Order Changes: Sometimes, the order in which you change settings may be important. First try disabling VBS, saving and exiting the BIOS, then re-entering the BIOS and enabling Intel VT-x.
    4. Consult Lenovo Support: If the problem persists, it may be specific to your model and BIOS version. Consulting Lenovo Support or visiting their support forums may provide more precise solutions tailored to your model.

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Yanhong Liu
