Hi Elena,
Please check if TPM is enabled in BIOS/UEFI. The option can vary depending on your device's manufacturer and model. Here's a general guide to help you enable TPM in your system's BIOS/UEFI:
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup. This is usually done by pressing a key during the boot process, such as F2, F12, DEL, or ESC. The specific key can often be found in your computer's manual or on the screen during the boot process.
- Once in the BIOS/UEFI setup, look for a section related to Security or Advanced settings.
- Within the Security or Advanced section, search for options related to TPM, Security Device, Security Device Support, TPM State, AMD fTPM switch, AMD PSP fTPM, Intel PTT, or Intel Platform Trust Technology.
- Enable the TPM option. The setting might be under a sub-menu labeled as Trusted Computing.
- After enabling TPM, save your changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI setup. Your computer will restart with TPM enabled.
If there is no TPM option in the BIOS/UEFI, your computer may not come with TPM.
If you're unsure about any steps or the exact terminology used in your BIOS/UEFI, it's recommended to consult your computer manufacturer’s support information or contact their support for assistance.
Also note that since the TPM is usually a chip on the motherboard of your computer it cannot be updated.
Best Regards,
Ian Xue
