When I try to save calendar item (File > save as) I get error "Unable to save calendar event to disk"

In Outlook on Mac. Open Calendar

Open calendar item > File > Save As.... Provide a location and file name. Click Save.

Error appears:

error

Trying Again doesn't work.

This happens with any event, regardless of day, time, invitees, rooms.

I have attempted saving in different locations. There is plenty of space on my hard drive. I have tried force quitting & relaunching Outlook. I have tried rebooting. I am using Outlook ver.16.86.1 (24061443)

As far as I can see there is no option to save a calendar item as ICS in OWA (Outlook in the browser)

    Hi @ Webber

    Welcome to our forum!

Does the error occur recently? Did you perform any specific actions before the error occurred?

Based on my research, when I save the calendar events to the files I do not have access to, the error occurs. It is suggested that you may try to save the calendar event to another File Explorer you have access and to see if the error persists.

If the error persists, considering data file corruption, it is proposed that you create a new profile, re-add your account to the new profile and check if the same issue still occurs.User's image

    Hope it helps!
