I exceeded my 200$ (184€) credit from Free Trial - DDoS Protection

I started my free trial subscription a week ago just for learning. A few days after last use I noticed that I was charged over 250 Euro for DDoS protection and then my subscription got disabled.
I was panicked, because I couldn't even believe that exceeding the credit (about 184 Euro) was even possible.
Since I haven't finished my course I removed all my resources (just to be sure) and then switched to pay-as you go subscription.
Does it mean I now will be charged for all that usage, or just the amount I exceed? Or maybe nothing, because it was all generated in free trial?

Please help because I don't know how much Microsoft wants to charge me and 250€ or even 70€ it is a lot for me!!!!!

    Hi Jakub Gruszczyński,

We appreciate your engagement with us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

We apologize for the unexpected charges and the disablement of your subscription. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

    • The Azure free trial provides a limited number of credits (usually $200 or equivalent in your currency) for a 30-day period.
    • Certain services, such as DDoS protection are not included in the free tier and can incur additional charges if used beyond the provided credits.
    • Once the free trial credits are exhausted, any additional usage will be billed to your linked payment method. If services that are not covered by the free trial are activated (like DDoS protection), they can generate charges that exceed your free credits.
    • Clearly explain that you were using a free trial for learning purposes, incurred unexpected charges, and need assistance. Include any relevant screenshots or documentation of your usage and charges.
    • Go to Cost Management + Billing in the Azure portal. Under Billing, click on Invoices and find the invoice marked as overdue or outstanding.
    • Additionally, we recommend reaching out to Azure Support directly to report this issue and request assistance with resolving the charges and re-enabling your subscription.

Additionally, follow the link-https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/supportability/how-to-create-azure-support-request to create support case.

If you find this response helpful and it resolves your issue, please consider marking it as “Accepted” or giving it an upvote. This will help others in the community find the solution more easily.

If you are still facing the issue, please let us know in the comments. We are happy to help you.

    Thank you.

Hello Jakub Gruszczyński, check if you have accidentally enabled the Azure DDoS Protection service and make sure to remove any unnecessary services/features that you don't need. It's to note that once your free trial expires and you switch to PAYG mode, you'll only be charged for services that you use above the free monthly amounts. See the explicit information mentioned here -- https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/free/free-account-faq/
