Can I use HTML Tags in Except If statement of Mail Flow rule?

I've created an organization-wide signature using a mail flow rule that uses html tags that are dynamic content that will adjust according to the sender, such as %%title%%, %%DisplayName%% and %%phone%%.

Now I want to make it so that there no are duplicates of the same signature at the bottom. If it's a different user from the same organization though, and they haven't already sent within the email chain, it will be added. So I think I need to use the html tag components in the except if so that it's that dynamic content that prevents the signature from being repeated. Is this a possibility?

I've tried it just using the following: Except If - Includes these patterns in the message subject or body: '%%DisplayName%%' %%Title%%

and it's not working.

There is other sections of the disclaimer that are not dynamic html tags, but if I use those, I'm assuming the except if will apply if any signature from the organization is already in the message chain.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Gloria

    Hi @Gloria Dangerfield ,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I understand you want to match some HTML tags in Except If conditions.

However, you could add these HTML tags in your disclaimer, but I’m afraid use HTML in the conditions is not supported yet.

If you want to avoid multiple disclaimers being added in an email conversation as you mentioned, you could add an exception that looks for other sections of the disclaimer that are not dynamic html tags in your disclaimer. This exception ensures that the disclaimer is only added to the original message.

You could refer to Organization-wide message disclaimers, signatures, footers, or headers in Exchange Online | Microsoft Learn for more information.

Hope the information above helps and thanks for your understanding.
