Sharepoint DB server "The target principal name is incorrect. Cannot generate SSPI context"

Question

I received the above error message when I access Central admin from the app and web front end (WFE) servers. Upon looking into the issue, it's with regards authentication issue with the DB server.

Kerberos authentication was not configured.

This error occurred after the DB server rejoin the domain.

Findings:

• SQL and SharePoint services are running.
• TNC connection to DB server (FQDN) is successful but ping cmd wasn't.
• SQL alias is defined but unable to run ping/TNC cmd from app and WFE servers.
• Kerberos configuration manager tool unable to run (Error: Issue accessing UserAccount information from the system).
• Ran a SQLChecker tool/report and found finding regarding SPN issues. (Refer to screenshot)

Troubleshooting:

• Services have restarted.
• Reset the service account password used for DB server authentication.
