Hi,

How can we check if Windows NLB is distributing the load between two Virtual Windows 2016 Servers evenly?

Thanks.

    Hi ,

The following article talking about how to verifying the Network Load Balancing Cluster, you could have a look:

Thanks for the info. Do the servers in the cluster send outgoing traffic using the clustered IP or their own static IP? If they use the clustered IP then is it possible to let them send traffic using their own IPs instead of clustered IP?

    Hi ,

Sorry for the delayed response, I did not receive email alert.

Do the servers in the cluster send outgoing traffic using the clustered IP or their own static IP?

    Using clustered IP.

If they use the clustered IP then is it possible to let them send traffic using their own IPs instead of clustered IP?

No, there is no way to change this behavior as it is a by-design behavior.

    Best Regards,

    Candy

If it is not possible to change then how will the cluster decide which node to send the incoming traffic to? I mean in the below scenario?

    1. Two Web Servers with WNLB
    2. Two backend servers with WNLB

Now if the web servers send traffic to backend NLB always using the clustered IP, then how will the NLB on backend servers distribute traffic between two nodes when the Affinity is Single? Should I change the Affinity to NO because as far as I know, a single affinity always sends traffic to a single node for a single IP address?

    Thanks.
