Hello All ,

We are migrating to Windwos10 IOT LTSC 2019 on Measurement Interface HW but iaking more CPU usage than Windows Embedded Standard 7 OS . As we all know WES 7 OS better performance due to OS footprint and customization facilities .

Unfortunately Microsoft stopped delivering tool kit so that we cannot reduce the OS footprint similar to WES 7 . Also we have already eliminated or disabled unwanted components like Cortona , Windows Defender ets and also disabled unwanted services . but still we can see huge CPU usage in Windows 10 IOT LTSC 2019 . Also there is no alternative OS to WES 7 .

In between , our HW vendor already provided updated drivers but still CPU usage remains same . Due to this customer are not accepting the Windows 10 LTSC 2019 OS .

HW Details :

Processor : i7-5700EQ

RAM :16 GB

Cores : 04

Processor Base Frequency : 2.60 GHZ

Let me know if any other possibilities to improve CPU usage .

    Hi ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Please understand that there is actually no way to directly compare the CPU speed between different versions of the system, because the Win7 and Win10 systems are very different.
We can diagnose the CPU issue on Win 10 system using the resource monior(click it under task manager)
Sort by CPU and then check if there's some processes occupying too much CPU
