Hi , I would like to capture the databases health and some other basic SQL databases configuration related to health and send them to Log analytics agent . This is specific to SQL Databases running on Azure SQL VM . What would be right approach to push this information to the Log analytics agent .. Custom Logs ? / Writing events to Event viewer

This sounds scary honestly . the product is quite very matured and no monitoring capabilities or enterprise level solution has been rolled out by microsoft yet . Any tentative timelines when the customers can expect the solution to be rolled out in public preview ?

The recommendation is to use database watcher but this currently supports SQL DB and SQL MI. Support for SQL VM is planned but we don't have an ETA for now to share with customers.
For Azure SQL on VM, Unfortunately, we do not have a recommended solution at this time.

Support for SQL VM in database watcher is a top priority, but unfortunately, we do not yet have a confident preview date we can share at this time. We suggest that customers who need SQL VM support in database watcher file feedback at https://aka.ms/sqlfeedback (or add their vote to an existing feedback item if one already exists). A highly voted customer feedback item helps the product team prioritize the investment into the requested feature.
