Why can't I receive verification code for Bing?

Recently I was trying to redeem my Microsoft Bing points when I couldn't receive the verification code. I tried multiple times and yet I still received no code. I recently received a code but instead, the user was not 'MS COMMERCE' but rather a phone number. The code we received is this '⌵▬⏜⎎ 071712 ⩛⪊⪯'. We want to confirm whether this is really for the MS Bing verification and we don't have to worry much about.
