When I go to type in a docx format word document there are sections of the document that disappear. This includes images and text. I can click backspace and they appear. I go to type and they vanish. I then scroll up and down and they text comes back. What's going on? I use a Mac.

    @Christine

    1 Are there some text boxes or tables on the document?
    If yes, please make sure there are enough space to shown the content in them, you may adjuest the size to have a check.
    Besides, please upgroup any shapes, images if there are any grouped objects.

    If not, please check whether this issue could be reproduced on new documemts.

    2 What's more, did you update Mac OS or Office for Mac recenlty?
    It's recommended to open Word, go to Word menu, and click About Word. check the version number of Office.

    If you upgrade the Mac OS to Big Sur, I would also suggest you try to disable Big Sur's font smoothing feature to check this issue.
    More detailed information, please refer to "Any way to disable font smoothing in Big Sur?".
