Hi since the recent upgrade to windows 10 ( 13/11/ 2020 )one of my others programs E-sword no longer seems to work, in that it does not appear on the screen. I tried to uninstall the window 10 upgrade ( KB4586781 & KB4586864 ) but the former did not uninstall correctly ( tried many times ) and the latter I am unable to uninstall as the option is for some reason not available.

    The servicing stack updates (KB4586864) cannot be uninstalled. The November 10, 2020—KB4586781 update could be uninstalled from an elevated cmd.exe run
    wusa /uninstall /kb:4586781
    the other option may be to check with the e-sword vendor for issues and possibly an updated version of their program.

    Hi,

    It is not able to uninstall cumulative update package KB4586781 through GUI in control panel. We could try the following measure to uninstall it with command line. As we uninstall it by downloading a same package, so it could avoid package file corruption which caused uninstall unavailable in wusa command as DSPatrick suggested. Also, you can try his advice first, and if it doesn't work, try mine.

    • Create folder C:\temp\cab
    • Download the update KB4586781 to C:\temp
    • Expand the .msu file to extract the .cab file by running below command in CMD: (replace file name)
    expand -F:* C:\temp{.msu file name with extension} C:\temp\cab
    • You will get a .cab file from last step. Use the following DISM command to remove package:
    Dism /online /remove-package /packagepath:c:\temp\cab{.cab file with extension}

    For KB4586864, as official status below, it is unable to uninstall once installed.

    Bests,

    I also want to uninstall this patch "KB5031471", which I installed through CAB.

    Should I download the package to uninstall it?
