Outlook email crashed and cannot receive emails

Question

Our outlook email account tried to install and add in and it caused outlook to crash. It has wiped all folder and emails. I have managed to clear the add in, and recover some emails but i cannot receive emails now.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled outloook

deleted and re installed the email address

(it keeps showing as an exchange email account, not sure if thats correct)

when i try do a send/receive it just bypasses that outlook account like it doesn't exist.

there is no pst. File to back it all up from? That seems to have disappeared as well.

I can send emails however.

does anyone know what might have happened and how to fix this?

Based on my research, this issue seems to be caused by a temporary bug in the background.

Issue ID MO805755.
