Lync Migration to Teams

I have an on-premise Lync 2013 setup that is only accessible on corporate network and an O365 tenant.

I want to migrate from Lync to Teams. I do not need Lync hybrid to work with Skype for Business Online as Skype for Business Online will not be available after some time next year.

What do I need to do?
I can just assign Teams access to my users and leave the default in Island Mode first.
After all users are migrated, I will change them to Teams Only.

That's all right? Is there anything I need to do to my on-premise Lync setup? I don't need to configure hybrid on Lync right? Since I don't plan to turn on Skype for Business Online. Or I have to make my Lync public accessible then configure the front end service to federate with O365 and install Skype For Business Online connector. Then after than migrate to Teams Only?

    @Lim Chong Sun ,

    It needs to deploy hybrid connectivity between Lync server and Skype for Business Online first. Then plan to move your user to Microsoft 365 or Office 365.
