Umbraco 14 on Azure

Hello

I have a Visual Studio Project with Umbraco 14 and I want to publish on azure with an webapp. I've made several attempts, including some successful ones, but I can never get the CMS up and running (as it does locally).

Any suggestions for publishing to Azure?

@Francisco Moura Can you please expand upon what is happening after you deploy? Are you seeing HTTP errors? Some other types of issues? This would help us understand what is happening.

In the meantime, below are some items from my notes that have helped others in the past.

Configuration: Ensure that your Umbraco project’s configuration settings are compatible with Azure. You may need to add specific configuration values in your appSettings.json file, such as:

{ "Umbraco": { "CMS": { "Global": { "MainDomLock": "FileSystemMainDomLock" }, "Hosting": { "LocalTempStorageLocation": "EnvironmentTemp" }, "Examine": { "LuceneDirectoryFactory": "SyncedTempFileSystemDirectoryFactory" } } } }

These settings are recommended for running Umbraco on Azure Web Apps.

Azure SQL Tier: Choose the right Azure SQL Tier for your application. The minimum recommended tier is “S2”, but higher tiers may offer better performance.

File System: Be aware that Azure Web Apps use a remote file share to host files. If your application has a high number of IO operations, this could become an issue.

Read-Only File Systems: Umbraco requires its working directory to be writable. Features like Azure’s “Run from Package” are not supported by Umbraco because they create a read-only file system.

Scaling: If you need scaling capabilities, consult the Load Balancing documentation for Umbraco, as more configurations are required to support auto-scaling.
