I am using a subscription for Office 365 and my Word has suddenly become unstable. The screen flashes and shakes constantly, making it impossible to use. This is happening EVERY TIME when I try to use word, so impossible for me to use it right now.

No problems with excel or powerpoint, only word is damaged. Last updates are installed. I use Windows 10 Home vers 20H2 X64 on a Lenovo Ideapad C340.

Any idea?

    Try updating your graphics display driver. If that does not work, try turning off use of hardware graphics acceleration in Office.
    File > Options > Advanced > Display > Disable hardware graphics acceleration.

    @Ioan Gabriel Dalea
    In addition to CharlesKenyon-8472's suggestions, you can also run Word as following. It would prevent add-ins and global template from being loaded automatically and lock the setting files.

    • Press Win + R to open Run dialog, then enter winword /a, click OK.

    If this issue goes away under /a command-line switch, please disable COM Add-ins and rename global template.

    • Go to File > Options > Add-ins > Manager, COM Add-ins > Go, clear the check boxes for any enabled COM add-ins, select OK.
    • Please close all the files of Office and go to File explorer > View in Show/hide group > check the box of "Hidden Items".
      Go to C:\Users\<user name >\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates, then find the Normal.dotm and rename it. This file will be automatically generated when reopen Word.

    Any issues please let us know.
