    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

For the issue you mentioned, the situation you encountered may involve configuration and update issues with Windows 11 in your environment. Let's gradually analyze and solve this problem:

Adding Windows 11 to AD servers:

Ensure that you have correctly added the Windows 11 computer to the Active Directory (AD) server. Check if the computer has successfully joined the domain and is displayed correctly in AD.

Windows 11 is displayed as Windows 10 Professional in the WSUS server:

This may be due to the WSUS server not correctly recognizing Windows 11. You can try updating the WSUS server to ensure that it can recognize and provide appropriate updates to Windows 11 devices.

Windows 11 did not receive patch updates from the server:

Ensure that the WSUS server is configured to support updates for Windows 11. Check the update settings of Windows 11 devices to ensure they are correctly pointing to the WSUS server. Ensure that the network connection is normal and allow the device to communicate with the WSUS server.

The 23H2 version of Windows 11 may be a key factor. Ensure that your WSUS server supports this specific version of the update and is correctly configured to provide these updates.

    Best regards,

    Jill Zhou

Jing's answer is wrong (perhaps AI Generated but I'm not sure.)

Windows 11 showing up as Windows 10 is 'By Design' according to Microsoft. Let's deal with that one first and expand on what you see in WSUS. The OS Description will be Windows 10 Pro for all Windows 10/11 systems. If you look to the version column, you may think it has something to do with the operating system version but the "Version" column is also not the operating system version - it's the Windows Update Agent version on the client machine. This can be different across Windows 11, Windows 10, and EACH month's CUs as you can tell from an older screenshot of mine below. The WUA does not have an 'update cadence' that follows each CU - meaning they are independent as you can see from the switch of versions of 10.x to 922.x in the screenshots below and from 922.x to 1023.x to 1217.x to 1218.x in the newer screenshots at the bottom.

WAM renames the OSes properly as you can see. Full Disclosure, WAM is our product.

Now, dealing with your Win11 system not receiving updates from WSUS - are you sure you have the proper Product checked? You need to select the Windows 11 Product from WSUS' Products & Classifications options in order to sync Windows 11 updates with WSUS.
