How do You Stop a Shared Calendar Becoming a Teams Meeting When Individual Teams Link Added to the Appointment?

My group uses a shared calendar for the Team, and when we create an appointment from the shared calendar, our process has been to create a separate appointment (from our own Outlook calendar) with a Teams link, then paste the Teams link in the body of the shared calendar appointment.

Within the last couple of months, doing this has caused the shared calendar appointment to become a Teams meeting (in the past it did not do this), without the option on the ribbon for 'Don't Host Online', which would normally remove the Teams meeting.

This is creating an issue when the meeting host changes and we need to change the link in the appointment. Even if you delete the link, the meeting on the shared calendar is still tied to the original link created from the individual's calendar.

To clarify, this is NOT a Teams link created from the shared calendar, it wouldn't work to try and adjust the settings in Options where it defaults to a Teams meeting.

Does anyone know how to disable this or if there is a fix? Any help would be much appreciated.
