Change authenticator code from 8 digits to 6 digits

I have tried numerous times to fix the issue I’m having and I can’t figure it out. Can Microsoft Support change my verification code from 8 digits to 6 for me?

    Thanks for your question.

    1. Remove the existing Account and login your MS account https://account.microsoft.com/
    2. Scroll down until you find "Security", expand the section and find and click the link "Additional security options".
    3. Click "Add a new way to sign in or verify" and select "Use an app".
    4. Choose Set up a different Authenticator app." and you will be presented with a QR code
    5. Open the MS Authenticator app on your phone
    6. click the "+" to add an account, then click "Other (Google, Facebook, etc)
    7. Scan the QR code.

    I still can’t get the authenticator app set up. Can I get a phone call to get this taken care off.
