Stuck in loop when logging in

I recently got a new phone and needed to use my microsoft authenticator to log in to a webpage that is part of my school organization.

Unfortunately, I hadn't added my account on my mobile device.

I click 'add account'

Select 'work or school account'

click 'sign in'

type in my school email

type in my password

this is where the loop starts:

The app tells me to Approve the sign in request by opening my Microsoft Authenticator app and approve the request to sign in.

Obviously I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now, so I click the option that says that.

Then it says to verify my identity by approving a request on the app (which I just said I can't do - I'm not even sure why this is an option) or by usding a verification code. So I click on verification code.

then it tells me that I have to enter the code displayed in the microsoft authenticator app on my mobile device, which I already said I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO.

How can I get around this? it is really important because I cannot have acces to my school account right now, I need to get acces to complete the schoolyear.

Microsoft Authenticator

You need to contact the school network admin, and have them reset your account. they will give you a code to use to approve the account in authenticator.
