Once you've upgraded to Pro, the system doesn't retain the Home edition files.
You can transfer a retail license of Windows 11 Pro to a new PC. On your current laptop:
i]You'll need to perform a clean install of Windows 11 Home. This will require a Windows 11 Home product key, or a digital license linked to your Microsoft account. Before proceeding back up all your data before proceeding.
For the Pro license:
- Deactivate Windows on your current laptop before installing Home edition.
- You can then use the Pro product key on your new PC to upgrade it from Home to Pro.

For Home:
- Your laptop will likely remain on Windows 11 Pro, but it will become unactivated.
- You will need a Windows 11 Home product key to revert the laptop to Home. If you don't have a key, you might need to perform a clean installation of Windows 11 Home.
