Can't log in to Outlook account on new iPhone with Microsoft Authenticator app

I recently got a new iPhone and I am unable to log in to my Outlook account via the Microsoft Authenticator app. The app generates a code, but there is nowhere to enter the code to finish the sign in process. I suspect the issue is related to the account not being backed up. I no longer have my old device. What can I do to recover my account? This is a very important account that I cannot access on any device.
