Using OAuth2 (Office 365) with an account @outlook.com with Thunderbird

Question

Microsoft sent a message asking users to use the authentification method OAuth2 (Office 365) instead of simple password. However, even after deleting and adding again the account, it is impossible to send or receive emails with this setting. Returning to "password" provides correct behavior.
