How to use trial version of power bi for non-businesses

Question

I am an independent contractor seeking to learn data analytics using power bi. I downloaded the free trial version of power bi but can't sign in without a work email address. And without signing in, I cannot do the exercises suggested by the tutorials. I need access to power bi desktop and power bi service. Please help.
