Even though I recieved a message that my account was verified for academic status, it did not reflect in my account

So right after I gave my college email ID and clicked on the link sent to the email, a verify button popped up. I clicked it and it said it successfully verified my academic status and redirected me to the Microsoft home page. After which I thought I would able to use my free 100 credits, but there were no changes in my account, instead it just invited me to repeat the same process. When I tried to repeat the same process, I was unable to because I couldn't use my college mail more than once in a year. Help me out.
