Trying to get to grips with Exchange Online for the first time, made more painful with using Apple software for mail etc but that aside...

If I have domain1.com and domain2.com how can I setup ******@domain1.com and ******@domain2.com as seperate mailboxes? can setup the first one fine but the second states that ******@domain1.com already exists when trying to create ******@domain2.com

How are you creating these? You can certainly create two separate mailboxes with two different email addresses. Ensure that each mailbox also has a unique User Logon Name (UPN) that typically matches the primary SMTP Address.

    Hi,@Sandtree

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

According to your description, I have some questions to be conformed.

    1. Did you set it up in the Apple mail software?

2.Can you provide a screenshot of the detailed error?

    Here are my suggestions:

If you have domain1.com and domain2.com and want to set up ******@domain1.com and ******@domain2.com as separate mailboxes, you need to ensure that the aliases for both mailboxes are unique. This is because Exchange Online does not allow two mailboxes to have the exact same local part (the part before the @ symbol), even if the domain names are different.
