Email stick in "New" Outlook inbox.

I have an email is stuck in the New Outlook inbox.

It will not delete...it just keeps coming back.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, repaired but nothing removes the email.

The email is not in any of my other devices, regular Outlook, nor is it in the imap provider email.

Any help solving the issue would be appreciated.

    Click Settings > Sync now.

Press Win+R keys together to open the Run menu.

Copy-paste the following command and hit the Enter key:

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook

Delete the .ost and .pst files in this folder

Restart Outlook and let it rebuild the cache

Find scanpst.exe in your Outlook installation folder

Run the tool and follow onscreen instructions.

    Hello Wayne,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

It sounds like you're dealing with a particularly stubborn email issue! Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot it:

1.Clear the Email Cache: Sometimes, clearing the cache can help resolve issues with stuck emails.

    2.Delete Email in Safe Mode:

    • Open Outlook in Safe Mode by holding down the CTRL key while clicking on the Outlook icon.
    • Try to delete the email again.

    3.Check for Add-ins:

    • Sometimes add-ins can cause issues with deleting emails.
    • Go to File > Options > Add-ins.
    • Click Go at the bottom and uncheck any add-ins you want to disable.
    • Restart Outlook and try deleting the email again.

    4.Create a New Outlook Profile:

    • Sometimes creating a new profile can resolve issues.
    • Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles.
    • Click Add to create a new profile.
    • Set up your email account in the new profile.
    • Open Outlook with the new profile and see if the email can be deleted.

    5.Use Outlook Web Access (OWA):

    • Try logging into your email account through a web browser (if your email provider supports OWA) and see if you can delete the email from there.

    6.PST Repair Tool:

    • If you're using a PST file, you might want to try repairing it.
    • Close Outlook.
    • Open ScanPST.exe (you can find it in the Office installation directory).
    • Follow the prompts to repair your PST file.

7.Contact IT Support or Your Email Provider:

    • If none of the above steps work, it might be helpful to contact your IT support team or your email provider for further assistance. They might have additional tools or insights that can help resolve the issue.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
