Hey,
My account recently got hacked due to malware being on my computer I believe. I filed a account recovery form and it was able to verify that I owned the account, however, I was sent a link to reset the password and was able to do so but that password I entered stopped working straight after. The account also has another external email associated with it, meaning I couldn't change any of the security information within the account due to needing verification from an email which is not mine. Whenever I try to reset the password again, it says "you've requested too many codes today. Please try again tommorow." - I have waited 4 days and it still isn't working.
Now, whenever I try to login to the account it also says that it is "temporarily locked as someone has entered the the incorrect password too many times", which I only did it twice. Microsoft support labelled my support ticket as "resolved" just as the account recovery worked out, however nothing else is as I am unable to access my account what so ever. I am in my final year of schooling and have some important school notes on that account and would be a massive pain to recreate all my notes.
I do believe that a bot is on my account. All of my information on the account was changed, even the actual email I used. The email was changed to a very much bot like email, a random spread of letters and numbers. Possibly the bot is locking the account as well as making the account recovery form being unable to work?
I was on the microsoft account for two minutes and saw literally all of the information was changed, I logged out and when I logged back in the password wasn't working and I couldn't use the account recovery link anymore and now am locked out of my account.
Any advice?
