Why my laptop does not switch to power saving mode when unplugged?

I have a laptop and currently installed a new windows 11. When i played games on old windows it automatically switches to integrated graphics card and caps FPS to 30 when unplugged but in new windows it does not switch I get same 120FPS even if it is unplugged. Please help I dont want to damge my laptop battery.

Based on your description, you can try opening Settings-System-Power & Battery, clicking "Energy Saver" to expand it, and turning on the "Always Use Energy Saver" switch. This will change the power plan to be more biased towards saving power, thereby reducing battery consumption. The power saving feature exists on Windows 11 24H1 (and earlier versions) and Windows 10. It helps save power when the system is running on battery. In Windows 11 24H2 and later versions, the energy saver replaces the power saving mode.

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

This is perhaps controlled by the windows system setting.

Please try to open settings by Win + I -> System -> Power & battery,

go to Energy saver and choose use energy saver.

Please kindly check it and see if it works.
