SQL Server not running because of "policy disabled" issue?how to fix it?

Is this happening on your machine at home, or are you in a corporate environment?
My guess is the latter, and that your IT department has pushed out a group policy. If my guess is correct, the fix is to speak nicely with these people to try to convince them that you need an SQL Server instance your machine.
