How to change invoice detail - Subscription VS Service family

Hi,

My invoices give details about the cost per Service Family.
However, I want to monitor my costs on a monthly basis, filtered by :

  1. Subscription
  2. Service

Is there a way to either :

  • adjust the invoice details, as the groupment by Service Family is not relevant to me
  • OR to create a custom view that I use every month to see costs sorted by Subscription and Service ?

Kind regards,

    Hi Pierre-Romain Destruy,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

To monitor your Azure costs on a monthly basis, filtered by Subscription and Service, as the easiest approach, you can use the cost analysis feature in the Azure portal:

Monitor costs by Subscription and Service

Azure portal--> Cost Management + Billing --> Cost Analysis.

In the top left, select the scope you want to analyze, such as your billing account, management group, or subscription.

    Add Filters:

    • Click on Add filter and select Subscription to filter by subscription.
    • Click on Add filter again and select Service to filter by service.

    Group by Subscription and Service:

    • In the Group by dropdown, select Subscription and Service.
    • This will group your costs by subscription and service, allowing you to see the monthly breakdown.

    Customize the View:

    • You can further customize the view by selecting different Visualization options, such as Chart or Table.
    • Adjust the Time range to view costs for the desired period, such as the last 12 months.

    Save the View:

    • Once you have the view set up the way you want, you can save it by clicking on the Save as button in the top right.
    • Give the view a meaningful name, such as "Monthly Costs by Subscription & Service", and it will be available for you to use in the future.

Optinally, you can also set up cost alerts to monitor when spending reaches a certain threshold. Go to cost alerts under cost Management and set up a new alert with your desired criteria

This custom view will allow you to monitor your Azure costs on a monthly basis, filtered by Subscription and Service, without needing to rely solely on the invoice details. You can use this view to track cost trends, identify high-cost services, and make informed decisions about your Azure resource usage. You can also set up budgets and alerts based on this custom view to proactively manage your Azure spending.
