Issue with response to Outlook appointments not showing on my end

When a co-worker sends me an appointment in outlook, sometimes after I accept it, it does not show on my end that I accepted it on my end, but does on theirs causing me to accept appointments more than once. The ability to respond does go away, sometimes. Anyone know why?

    Based on my research, this could be related to a temporary backend bug. This event can impact users updating or canceling calendar items in the Outlook desktop client. The engineering team is currently working on a fix, so please be patient and wait for the next update.
