Power automate virtual desktop - icon status says 'not connected'

I have downloaded and installed the Power automate virtual desktop. The icon status in the task bar says 'not connected' We operate our ERP vis windows RDP. The instructions say load on the local device, which we did but also copy to the RDP. Does the Virtual desktop need to be on the remote and local machine?
