Outlook says I need to log in to Teams to book a Teams meeting but I am logged in

Recently installed Office 365 suite and Teams on laptop (running Win10 x64) and successfully installed Outlook and connected to email service. Initially had trouble getting 'create Teams meeting' button to even appear in calendar appointment creation window despite Add-in being present and active in Outlook. Re-installed everything and resolved that issue. Now, however, when I press the Teams Meeting button in the calendar creation window the pop-up states: "To schedule a Teams meeting make sure you're signed in to Teams". Teams (new) is active and running on this laptop and I am signed in. So where is the problem?

I have un-installed and re-installed Teams and Office 365 multiple times and wiped the credentials records and and cache to no effect. Thank you.
