Urgent Support Needed: Clarification and Increase in Rate Limits for Microsoft Teams API
Dear Microsoft Support Team,
We are integrating a Teams bot to one of our clients as a key component of our service offering.
We encountered some concerns regarding the API rate limits that are crucial for the deployment’s success. According to the current documentation (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/bots/how-to/rate-limit), the limits are set to 7 API calls per second per user and 50 requests per second per tenant. Additionally, there are mentions of Total Per Minute (TPM) restrictions, but these specifics are not clearly outlined.
Given our client's substantial user base of half a million, these limits may pose a significant bottleneck. We are experiencing Error 429, which indicates we are hitting the rate limits. Therefore, we need to understand the exact parameters of these limitations and discuss potential adjustments to these thresholds.
Could anyone please provide us with detailed information on the following:
- Precise TPM and TPS limitations for our use case.
- The procedure and requirements for requesting an increase in these rate limits.
