‎Remote Desktop environment - editing Edge passwords‎

In a remote desktop environment with hybrid joined session hosts (Windows 2019) we experience the following issue with Microsoft Edge.

Users have to authenticate when editing a password in Microsoft Edge's built-in password manager. But gets the following error message (with correct password, just to be clear):
