How to fix "Create workspace connection failed." for AI Search Service

I am trying to create a chat assistant in Azure AI studio. I created a new project and I want to add a connection to an AI Search Service that I can use for text indexing. I believe I set all the features correctly when I created the search service in the Azure portal (same location as my project, public networking is enabled & I picked 3 replicas). However, when I go to project settings to add a new connection, I get this "Failed to create connection" error. Can someone help me with this?User's image
