license required for AVI Container format?

Hi, is there a permission from Microsoft required to be able to sell a software, that encapsulates a MJPEG Video Stream in an AVI Container? The software would be completely self developed and also for non Windows systems. The AVI reference hasn't got any remarks regarding licensing If so, how can I obtain a license? Or can I use the openDML Version without permissions? Best Regards mb2020

You could refer to the following official article as your reference:
    Use of Microsoft copyrighted content

Since this is a technical community and not a licensing one, if you need a definite answer you'd better contact a trained Microsoft licensing specialist regarding your licensing questions.

Hope above information can help you.
