Hi, is there a permission from Microsoft required to be able to sell a software, that encapsulates a MJPEG Video Stream in an AVI Container? The software would be completely self developed and also for non Windows systems. The AVI reference hasn't got any remarks regarding licensing https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/directshow/avi-riff-file-reference If so, how can I obtain a license? Or can I use the openDML Version without permissions? Best Regards mb2020

    Hi,
You could refer to the following official article as your reference:
    Use of Microsoft copyrighted content
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/permissions/default

Since this is a technical community and not a licensing one, if you need a definite answer you'd better contact a trained Microsoft licensing specialist regarding your licensing questions.

Hope above information can help you.
