@Bruce Pocock Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.
Here's a general guide that you can follow to switch your Microsoft 365 subscription from a partner to a direct subscription:
- Before making any changes, ensure you back up all your important data, including emails, files, and settings.
- Inform your current partner that you wish to switch to a direct subscription. They may need to cancel your existing subscription.
- Once your partner has canceled the subscription, you can purchase a new Microsoft 365 subscription directly from Microsoft. You can do this through the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- After purchasing the new subscription, you will need to reassign licenses to your users. This can be done in the Microsoft 365 admin center under the “Users” section.
- Ensure all your settings, such as custom domains and user permissions, are correctly configured in the new subscription.
- Import your backed-up data into the new subscription to ensure continuity of service.
