Hi everyone,
in my message center there is a message:
"starting December 1st, 2020 the “Automatic” setting will be updated to “off”, i.e. external forwarding will not be allowed by default"
I already prepared the change in September so i was fine with it. So i checked with my mail account - i can still forward mail but i am not in one of the allowed groups. Is there any setting that can prevent it? Maybe in Exchange Online?

What is it set to now? Automatic Forwarding in the Outbound anti spam policy...
Our setting is "Automatic" for "external forwarding" in the Default Outbound anti spam policy.
Which means that it should be not possible after this message.
But still is - is there any other setting we need to roll back?

Hi,
the problems solved itself by getting enabled on the 4th of december.
I was not monitoring the change anymore so some of the "forwarding allowed" people got some error messages because of a wrong configured exception. Everything is fine now.
Ok, so there is an allowed group by a transport rule?
If so, set to ON and let the rules dictate that.
If automatic forwarding is blocked for everyone, then set to OFF
I am not a real fan of the automatic setting, not sure it really works as expected.
