How to fix: Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer, on an existing azure dev box

I had an Azure Dev Box that I have been working in for over a year now. Suddenly, I started getting the error message below when trying to open it via Remote Desktop. I have tried to run a troubleshoot on the dev box through the portal and it comes up with no errors.
Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:
- Remote access to the server is not enabled
- The remote computer is turned off
- The remote computer is not available on the network Make sure that the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network and that remote access is enabled.
